These terms govern your use of Matchko. They are written to be read, not skimmed past. The parts most likely to matter to you are credits, refunds, and who owns what you make.

Matchko ("Matchko", "we", "us") is operated by Chimney Studios. By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. If you are using Matchko for an organisation, you confirm you may bind that organisation.
You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to hold an account.
Matchko turns a written idea into a short video. It writes a script, generates or sources visuals, adds a synthetic voice and captions, and returns a finished file. The generation runs on third-party AI models, and which model handles a given job may change as models are added, retired or repriced.
Output varies. Generative models are probabilistic. The same prompt can produce different results, and a result may not match what you pictured. That is a property of the technology, not a defect, and it is not grounds for a refund on its own.
Generation is paid for in credits. Credits are priced on what a job actually costs us to produce, so a longer video, a higher resolution, or a premium model costs more than a short, standard one.
The price is always shown before you generate, and you are only charged for jobs that succeed. If a generation fails, is cancelled, or is refused by a provider's content filter, the credits are returned to your balance automatically.
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your card number. You can cancel at any time from your account, and you keep access and any remaining credits until the end of the period you have already paid for.
If Matchko fails to deliver what you paid for — a charge for a job that never ran, a duplicate charge, or a billing error — contact us and we will put it right.
We do not generally refund credits that have been spent on successful generations, including where you simply did not like the result, because the underlying compute has already been bought on your behalf. If something has gone genuinely wrong, write to hello@matchko.com and we will look at it properly.
You own your output. Subject to you having paid for it and to the rules below, we claim no ownership of the videos, images, scripts or audio you generate with Matchko, and you may use them commercially.
You keep ownership of anything you upload. You grant us only the licence we need to run the service: to store your input, pass it to the model providers that carry out the generation, and return the result to you.
Two honest caveats. Generative output may not be eligible for copyright protection in some countries. And because models are probabilistic, we cannot guarantee your output is unique — another user given a similar prompt may receive something similar.
You agree not to use Matchko to create or distribute:
You are responsible for what you publish. You also agree not to resell raw access to the generation API, attempt to extract model weights, or work around rate limits and credit accounting.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where the breach is serious, we may do so without notice.
We work to keep Matchko running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. The product depends on third-party model providers, and an outage, price change or model retirement on their side can affect what is available here. We may change, add or remove features.
Matchko is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces your rights we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Matchko after that means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.
